San Marco illuminated by fireworks
The Festa del Redentore (Day of the Redeemer) is among those festivals most loved by Venetians, which combines religious and performance aspects , thanks to the phantasmagorical firework display on Saturday night which attracts thousands of visitors: on the one of a kind stage of the San Marco Basin - a play of lights and reflections draw a kaleidoscope of colors which stand out among the city's spires, domes and bell towers.
Tradition has it that at sunset, the boats, lit up and perfectly decorated with colorful boughs and balloons, begin to pass through the San Marco Basin and the Giudecca Canal. Hearty traditional Venetian dishes make up abundant dinners in the boats, while awaiting the fireworks show. The entire fireworks display in the San Marco Basin is perfectly visible from our panoramic terrace, where our kind guests can enjoy a good glass of Prosecco in the moonlight during Venice's most magical night.
